Annie O. Waterman is a freelance photographer based between Lisbon and Paris. Annie's work is rooted in her 18+ years of experience working within the artisan sector. Through this work, she has traveled extensively, discovering people, places, and cultural traditions through the lens of traditional craft.
Her background in the artisan field has given her a sensitive approach to creating storytelling imagery for artists, brands, makers, and cultural organizations, with particular attention to detail, workshops, process, material culture, and sense of place.
Her work has been featured in Selvedge and HAND/EYE Magazine, by artisan brands, and used to promote artists' work and cultural projects that support traditional crafts and cultural heritage, including projects with the United Nations Development Program.
Annie studied Fine Arts with a focus on photography and has completed Magnum Photos' Creative Documentary Course, as well as long-term programs with Agence VU in Paris and the VII Foundation Academy in Arles, France.
